What Level of Musicianship Do I Need to Join MyBand?
We accept all levels, and we tailor each band to be at a similar level of experience, this eliminates the frustration and intimidation that can arise from players of very different levels working together.
You should have at least a basic grasp of your instrument, but beginners are welcome. If you’re in any doubt, submit an audition video and one of our mentors will provide feedback.
What Instruments Are You Looking For?
All of them! Piano, drums, guitar, bass, vocals, brass, harp, percussion! You name it we want it.
What Does the MyBand Course Consist of?
Once placed in a band you will all submit 5 song choices, these songs will be whittled down by the group to a select few that your band will learn under the guidance of your mentor. You will meet every week for a 2-hour session to rehearse and at the end of the 16-week course you will enter the studio to record live videos and join the other bands for a live show at a well-known Dublin venue.
What Is Expected of Me as a MyBand Member?
As a member of a band, you are expected to make reasonable efforts to practice and learn your parts in between the rehearsal sessions. Attendance is important as well; your attendance affects not only your progress with the band but everyone else’s. The mentors are experienced musicians and can fill in from time to time as some unattendances are unavoidable, however attendance and practice between sessions is strongly encouraged to get the most out of MyBand.
How Much Does MyBand Cost?
MyBand is a 16-week course costing a total of €800, each month each member will pay €200. This equates to €50 per 2-hour rehearsal session and also covers the studio session and live show.
